Charanga Flute Fingering Charts

Below is a list of all available fingering charts for charanga flutes. Each fingering chart is split up by acoustic octaves, whose ranges are notated and clickable.

The five- and six-key charanga flute fingering charts were derived from a Jerome Thibouville Lamy French five-key flute, circa 1900. This model has small tone holes, and its cork is positioned near the embouchure of the instrument, allowing A₄ = 440 Hz tuning. The six-key model has the F key doubled in the left hand. Fingerings from the first, second, and lower third octaves may apply to similar non-charanga five- or six-key flutes. Reports of success or failure with these fingerings for such non-charanga flutes are welcome.
